CHARLOTTE JORST RETIRES NINTENDO – WITH A SPECIAL BLANKET FROM ANNA KLOSE

Wellington, March 2023: Friday evening, thunderous applause - all eyes on Kastel's Nintendo and his wonderful rider. Nintendo came into Charlotte Jorst's stable about 10 years ago – and it quickly was clear that the two were made for each other. The couple took part in countless tournaments together, including 123 competitions on international level. And no matter where the two performed, their powerful and lively rides enchanted judges and audiences alike.

After his last competition season, the 20-year-old KWPN stallion Nintendo was finally going into his well-deserved retirement – and I was given the wonderful job to design a very special blanket for his farewell ceremony. The focus of the design was on the greatest successes of the pair. Each of the tournaments depicted commemorates special moments that will forever connect Charlotte and Nintendo – from the World Cup Final in Gothenburg to the Nations Cup in Falsterbo. Over a few night shifts, my team and I created a real design piece – made of Italian shell in “Midnight Black”.

MORE ABOUT MY BLANKETS

On to the last dance

The farewell ceremony took place with a full audience at the CDI 5* in the large jumping stadium in Wellington. After they showed their great freestyle one last time to “Pirates of the Caribbean,” one sentence from Charlotte’s speech particularly stuck in my mind:

"Nintendo inspired us all. He made us feel like he could do anything – and I think that we not only did it all, we also had fun and joy doing it: over and over again."

A month full of great memories

During my stay in Wellington, I naturally also took the opportunity to present my latest designs to a wider audience in the USA via pop-up stores, trunk shows and many other exclusive events. A very special trip full of unforgettable experiences. It was wonderful to share my passion for equestrian and fashion with so many like-minded women. We had many enchanting moments and I was so happy about the enthusiastic feedback.

Love, Anna
